Small enough to care, big enough to make a positive impact
As a successful school in south east Northumberland, we take pride in our high standards of teaching and behaviour, alongside a strong commitment to continual improvement. We are passionate about ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed in all aspects of school life.
We are seeking a specialist teacher of Music, who will be required to deliver lessons across Key Stages 2 and 3, from Year 5 to Year 8. The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with a proven record of delivering high-quality Music teaching at Key Stage 3. Experience of teaching Key Stage 2 would be advantageous, though not essential.
You will need to be proactive in leading our Music provision, with opportunities to collaborate with other specialists at Whytrig Middle School and Seaton Valley High School within the Seaton Valley Federation.
This is a part time role, working four days per week - please note that the non-working day may change each year due to the operational needs of the school.
While our primary focus is finding an outstanding Music practitioner, we also have a vacancy for a Student Progress Leader (Head of Year). We welcome applications from candidates interested in either the Music Teacher role alone, or those looking to step into leadership by taking on the combined responsibility. If you have a passion for pastoral care as well as the arts, we would love to hear from you.
As a relatively small school, Seaton Sluice Middle School benefits from a strong sense of community where every student is known, valued, and supported. Our students uphold our core expectations: be ready, be respectful, be safe. These values are embedded in daily school life and help foster a calm, respectful, and purposeful learning environment where all students can thrive.
Visits to the school are also warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact vacancies@svf.org.uk to make an appointment.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.
