About this Role

We are looking for a passionate practitioner to join our setting in September 2026 to cover maternity leave as a part-time Class Teacher in our Year 3/4 Class.  This would be on a part-time basis for 2 days per week, currently on a Thursday and Friday.

There is also the opportunity for this to be a full-time maternity cover due to the current teacher being split across our federation with Pitsford Primary School with 3 days per week at Pitsford and 2 days per week at Walgrave.

Do you believe in the child centred approach where every aspect of the curriculum is celebrated?

Would you like to work in a ‘good’ school where teachers are supported in improving their teaching practice and developing their teaching careers?

Then we would love to hear from a lower KS2 specialist such as yourself.  The successful candidate for this maternity cover will join a positive and welcoming environment, and will work as part of a highly collaborative team.

All Classes visit our local forest school termly.  The teachers within the team work collaboratively to plan lessons, co-ordinate resources and enhance the environment to support the children.  Our topic-based curriculum builds on the children’s interests to stimulate their thinking so that they are excited to learn.

Salary will be on the main scale and according to experience.

Closing Date:      9am on Friday 17th April 2026

Interview Date: TBC

Start Date:            Tuesday 1st September 2026

The staff and Governors at Walgrave Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
