About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant with a deep understanding of special educational needs. Join the ‘Place Where Brilliance Begins’, a vibrant, happy and nurturing school located in the village of Walgrave.

This is a rewarding role, working with inspiring pupils, in a close-knit team of talented and ambitious staff.

Responsible to:    Headteacher, SENDCo

Hours:                   30 hours per week, term time only. (8.45am – 3.15pm with half an hour lunch break)

Salary:                   Grade E salary point 4-5. (Salary to be pro rata based on full time equivalent salary £25,185 - £25,583)

Contract:              Named child

We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, and inspirational individual, who will be committed to the pupils’ welfare and achievement. The right candidate needs to be passionate about achieving the best for the pupils and about making a positive difference. Your role will require you to work in a small team and 1:1, ensuring the daily needs of the pupil are met.

Specifications:

  • Experience of working with children with a range of special education needs. 
  • Committed to the role and be able to work with children who have varied needs.
  • Capable of building relationships with the pupils and be willing to be flexible to support their specific needs
  • Willing to undergo specific training from outside agencies in order to support the children with specific areas of need.
  • Must be able to work in an adaptive way to ensure children are able to be part of everyday school life.

·        Able to communicate effectively with parents, outside agencies and professionals.
