Literacy and Communication Lead

Work in a special school and make a difference to a child every day!

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher/SENCO/Literacy Lead

We are looking for a full time Literacy and Communication Lead Teacher at Parkside Special School.

This role will coordinate the subject area including phonics, reading, writing and communication as a whole, including being a signalong tutor. You will support staff with training and development of their subject knowledge and SEN specific pedagogy. You will work with Talk for Writing to further develop our specialist practice in this area and run our showcase sessions for other schools. You will have an overview of pupil progress and work with the SLT to develop curriculum and ensure all pupils reach their potential, including entry-level qualifications in English.

You will also have a class responsibility, with 10% PPA and a further 10% off timetable to fulfil this role (and additional time when needed on top of this).

The role comes with a TLR of £4772 and an SEN point £2679.

Parkside is a vibrant and busy school, full of fun, laughter and high aspiration for our pupils and young people aged between 7-18 years old, all with learning and cognition needs and EHCPs.

We pride ourselves on being a school that cares about wellbeing, both for our pupils and our staff.
