Uppingham School is looking for a reliable, friendly, and safety-conscious Minibus Driver to join our dedicated Transport Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting our pupils’ daily journeys while enjoying a highly rewarding, term-time-only position with excellent benefits.
If you take pride in safe driving, enjoy working with young people, and value a supportive team environment—this could be the perfect role for you.
As a Minibus Driver, you will operate the School’s minibuses on home-to-school routes and support additional transport needs as required. The role also involves carrying out routine vehicle checks, promptly reporting any defects and maintaining cleanliness and basic upkeep of the minibuses. A strong commitment to pupil safety is essential, including ensuring that seatbelts are worn and pupil safety is prioritised at all times. Full training will be provided, including MiDAS, safeguarding, pupil welfare and basic medical and allergen training and procedures.
You must hold a full, clean UK driving licence with Category D entitlement and demonstrate confident driving skills, strong road awareness and the ability to work flexibly at short notice. While previous experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be given.
This is a part-time, term-time-only position offering 22.25 hours per week across 32 weeks of the year. Working hours include early morning shifts from 5:30am to 7:45am Monday to Saturday, evening shifts from 5:45pm to 7:30pm Monday to Friday.
