About this Role

Uppingham School is looking for an organised, detail-focused and digitally confident Apprentice People (HR) Coordinator to support the smooth running of its HR function. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with systems, data and processes, while also supporting people across a busy and varied organisation.

As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will gain hands-on experience alongside formal training, leading to a nationally recognised qualification. The role will give you a strong grounding in HR administration and a key part of the role will involve supporting the school’s HR information system, iTrent.

You will help maintain accurate staff data, produce reports, check records, and look for ways to make HR processes more efficient. You will also help manage the team’s inbox, respond to staff queries, support safer recruitment checks, and work with colleagues across HR, Payroll, Finance and other departments.

We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and confidence using IT systems such as Excel, databases or HR systems. You do not need previous HR experience, but you should be methodical, reliable, discreet with confidential information, and interested in systems, data, administration or process improvement.

In return, Uppingham offers a supportive and well-resourced environment designed to enhance both your professional and personal development, in addition to 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, free staff lunches in term time, free Westfield Healthcare, access to the school’s sports centre, retail and leisure discounts, and a range of other staff benefits.

  1. Do you have the right to work in the UK, i.e. Visa, Work Permit or British Passport holder?
