About this Role

Teaching Assistant

A teaching assistant plays a vital role in the classroom, supporting both teachers and students to create a positive and effective learning environment. They help explain concepts, guide small groups, provide one-to-one support, and encourage students to build confidence in their abilities. With patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills, teaching assistants help bring lessons to life, ensure every student feels included, and make a real difference in helping learners reach their full potential.

Singlewell School offers a warm, family friendly environment, set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Gravesend. Since expanding to a two-form entry in September 2016, the school has benefited from a newly built facility and now operates at full capacity, with two classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Each class is supported by dedicated Teachers and Teaching Assistants. We are fortunate to have modern, well-equipped facilities and spacious grounds, providing an excellent space for both learning and play.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
