Bridlington School is seeking a maternity cover for the role of IT and Business Teacher. You will pick up a varied and interesting timetable, teaching KS3 to KS5 (dependant on your experience).
Bridlington School has invested heavily in its digital learning provision. We recognise the need for digital upskilling following the transformation in the modern workforce as a result of the pandemic. Building on our existing strengths we have rebranded our computing department to become the Creative Digital department. It is vital that we provide students with a future proof education centred around the digital skills students need to become well rounded global citizens. To this effect this year we have also invested in a brand new 25 seat eSports class room, this new facility accommodates students studying BTEC level 3 eSports qualification.
Beyond the next academic year, we are looking into the possibility of adding further qualifications to enhance our provision.
The Role
The provision of IT at KS3 follows an adapted version of the NCCE IT framework to ensure all students receive a well-rounded and accessible syllabus. It is the vision of the Creative Digital department that students will be equipped with critical skills such as creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration, ensuring they learn the knowledge and skills required to thrive in their chosen careers. As a department we are well resourced and the school believes that it is vital that our students should learn good computing skills, become independent creative users of digital technology and that digital literacy will sit alongside literacy and numeracy as essential disciplines in the future connected world.
With this in mind, you will teach a varied and progressive timetable of Business, IT and Computing courses including the opportunity to develop the syllabus for Creative iMedia and Esports.
