Our vision is to be an outstanding and inclusive educational
community where students love learning, are happy, confident, excited by
achievement and recognised for their success, we believe we are well on our way
to achieving this vision, and we would love you to join us on our journey.
Bridlington School is seeking a passionate and energetic
Teacher of History to start asap in February 2026. We are interested in
applications from teachers at any stage of their career; the most important
thing is your desire to support the students at Bridlington School in their
academic progress.
The Role
You can expect to teach History from KS3 to
KS5; our uptake of History at KS4 is strong and increasing year on year.
We are also continually growing our 6th Form cohort.
Whilst following national curriculum, students will
learn about the local history of the town and region alongside important
national and international events over the last millennium. How have
major events and people shaped our modern world?
The person appointed will:
· demonstrate
high standards of teaching and learning;
· teach
History to KS3
· teach
History to GCSE and, possibly, to A Level
· be a
form tutor and support the academic and pastoral development of your tutor
group.
The Team
You will become a part of the wider EBacc team. Here
at Bridlington School we are committed to growing EBacc and have recently
appointed an Achievement Lead in this area.
As a subject that lends itself to extra-curricular
activities, trips and visits, you can be a part of a team that provides a
substantial amount of enrichment to the students in Bridlington.
Bridlington School
Bridlington School is a successful 11-18 maintained school
with over 1,000 students on roll, a number which is rising year on year as our
reputation as a centre of excellence grows within the local area. We have
a small but thriving sixth form; the growth of this is an ambition for the
school. Students are polite, respectful and keen to learn, 49% are
entitled to free school meals, 25% are also on the SEN register predominantly
due to difficulties with literacy and numeracy skills.
What we can offer You
It is an exciting time to join Bridlington School as we
continue to strengthen relationships with other local Education providers
including nearby Secondary Schools and Primary Feeders. This provides
opportunity to be involved in transition and outreach work, but also
connections with peers across the local area.
The school has a genuine and sustained focus on reducing
workload, particularly in relation to marking and feedback.
You will join a supportive department who can assist your
own career aims including progression. Many of our senior staff joined
Bridlington School as NQTs/ECTs.
The site benefits from on-site parking, fitness facilities
and subject work rooms/break out areas. You will also have access to
Employee Assistance and the Live Well provision via the East Riding of
Yorkshire Council and various discounts such as local leisure centres.
Application Process
The school reserves the right to appoint before the application deadline.
