Do you believe that some of the most powerful learning happens outdoors?
Are you passionate about nurturing curiosity, confidence and resilience through meaningful experiences in nature? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Lochinver House School is seeking to appoint an experienced, talented and caring Forest School Teacher to join our thriving Pre Prep from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of our youngest learners at a particularly significant time in the school's journey.
In September 2025, we welcomed our first cohort of girls aged 3–4 into our new Nursery provision, Little Lochies, extending our Pre Prep age range from 4–7 to 3–7. As our community continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional practitioner who can inspire a lifelong love of learning through exploration, discovery and adventure in the natural world.
Working closely with colleagues across the Pre Prep, you will design and deliver an engaging Forest School programme that enables children to take risks, ask questions, solve problems and develop independence in a safe and nurturing environment. You will help children build confidence, resilience and a deep connection with the outdoors while supporting their social, emotional and academic development.
We are looking for someone who:
At Lochinver, our values of honesty, kindness and respect underpin everything we do. We are proud of our warm and welcoming community and of the exceptional opportunities we provide for our pupils. Forest School is a valued and important part of our curriculum, helping children develop the confidence, character and curiosity that will serve them throughout their education and beyond.
This position is offered on a 0.4 FTE basis. Contracted working days are flexible and will be discussed at interview and agreed upon appointment.
In return, you will join a school where staff are genuinely valued, professional development is encouraged, and children arrive each day ready to learn, explore and grow.
If you are excited by the prospect of helping our youngest learners discover the wonders of the natural world, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Lochinver House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. The interview process will include safeguarding-related questions.
The School is committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for pupils, staff and the wider school community.
