About this Role

Are you a passionate and inspiring Music Teacher looking for a part-time role where you can make a real impact?

Lochinver House School is seeking a talented musician and educator to join our vibrant school community, teaching boys in Year 5 and Year 6. This is a fantastic opportunity to nurture a love of music at a key stage in pupils’ development, building their confidence, skills, and enjoyment as they progress on their musical journey.

At Lochinver, music is an important part of school life. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to the classroom, delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire pupils and encourage active participation.

You will play a key role not only in the classroom, but also in the wider life of the school—supporting concerts, performances, and musical events that bring our community together and give pupils the opportunity to shine.

What we’re looking for

  • A strong musician with the ability to lead engaging and high-quality lessons
  • Experience of teaching Key Stage 2, ideally including Year 5 and Year 6
  • A passion for inspiring young people and fostering a lifelong love of music
  • Confidence in leading singing, ensemble work, and practical music-making
  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom

Why join Lochinver House School?

Lochinver House is a warm, supportive, and ambitious school where staff are valued and encouraged to bring their ideas to life. As part of the Haberdashers’ Elstree Schools Group, you will also benefit from being part of a wider network of colleagues committed to excellence in education.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a teacher who is looking for a flexible, part-time role while still making a meaningful contribution to a thriving school community.

Our staff are at the heart of everything we do. You will be joining a team that:

  • Values collaboration, innovation and professional growth
  • Provides a supportive and inclusive working environment
  • Offers excellent professional development opportunities
  • Encourages creativity and fresh thinking in the classroom
  • We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including pension and access to school facilities.

Lochinver House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
