Queenswood
School is seeking an Organist to join our vibrant and ambitious Music
Department to support the worship in our beautiful Chapel.
As School
Organist, you would play a pivotal role in the musical worship of the school,
playing our organ (or piano if more appropriate for the repertoire) before and
during assemblies and services in our Chapel, which celebrates its centenary in
this coming academic year.
Our school
organ has Hunter and Son pipes from 1928 with a Bishop and Son console with
three manuel's from 1998. Assemblies and services take place each morning
Monday - Thursday and there would be additional services to play for,
including, but not limited to, Remembrance Day, Advent and Confirmations and
the Leavers’ Service. The Chapel Organ is at the heart of the school’s worship,
and the organist plays an integral part in shaping the musical atmosphere of
these events.
Alongside
your performance duties, you will have the opportunity to deliver organ
tutoring to students of all ages and abilities, preparing them for concerts,
examinations and scholarships.
We are
looking for an inspiring and versatile organist with the enthusiasm, warmth and
commitment needed to inspire young musicians of all ages and abilities.
This role
could be taken in conjunction with the Graduate Musician and Administrator role
or independently of it.
Queenswood is
a GSA, BSA, HMC Boarding and Day School for approximately 430 girls aged 11-18,
set in beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, easily accessible from North
London.

this post is flexible, term time only.
Salary will
be based on a peripatetic contract or on self-employment basis.
