Personally:
The
Business & Economics Department has a strong track record of examination
success at GCSE and A-Level. The Department’s highly capable and experienced
teachers play a central role in the development of learning within the school. The
curriculum is both challenging and engaging, looking to develop students’ understanding
of fundamental concepts and principles in business and entrepreneurship. The
Department is well resourced and is constantly looking to develop and update
those resources.
The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1288 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 133 female students. As a result of excellent teaching, our students consistently achieve fantastic academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. “Behaviour is exemplary in lessons and around the school.” which means the school has a calm atmosphere and students are ready to learn. "Pupils are polite, well-mannered and kind.” and “are ambassadors for the school, demonstrating excellent behaviours in all that they do.” (Ofsted 2023)
We relocated to a brand-new school, in September 2024, on a large site less than a mile from our previous location. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future. Our vast list of extra-curricular activities and trips means students engage positively with school and represent our values with pride. Staff turnover is very low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy working here, with many choosing the school for their own children.
