The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1280 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 137 female students. This is a very exciting time to be joining our Outstanding school, as we relocated to a brand-new state-of-the-art school, in September 2024, on a large site less than a mile from our previous location. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future.
A large number of our students really enjoy learning Music and
is an important part of everyday school life. We have a large number of well
attended co-curricular clubs as well as music festivals and concerts. We have a
strong history of success at both GCSE and A-Level. Each year, around 85% of
students gain grade 4+ and 50% gain grade 7+ at GCSE, which is consistent with
the typically high performance of students across the subject range. “Behaviour is exemplary in
lessons and around the school.” which means the school has a calm
atmosphere and students are ready to learn. "Pupils are polite,
well-mannered and kind.” and “are ambassadors for the school,
demonstrating excellent behaviours in all that they do.” (Ofsted
2023)
