About this Role

Thank you for your interest in this vacancy. A rare and new opportunity has arisen at The Nobel School, and we are seeking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious, and hardworking Deputy Headteacher to complement our leadership team. The successful candidate will lead on Teaching and Learning and the Curriculum.

Our school community is built around a clear set of values: Ready, Respectful and Safe. These values underpin our expectations for behaviour, learning and relationships across the school. The Nobel School is a very exciting and vibrant Ofsted rated “Good” secondary school with nearly 1500 on roll, covering the full age and ability range, the majority of whom continue their education into our flourishing sixth form.

The job specification and role description can be found within the recruitment pack. This pack provides an overview of the school and what we are looking for in a successful candidate. Please ensure you read this carefully before preparing your letter of application (via the My New Term form), which should clearly demonstrate the skills and experience you would bring to the role. Applications should be via My New Term - CVs will not be accepted.

We would strongly encourage prospective candidates to arrange a tour of the school. We will be running tours on w/c 23rd March and w/c 13th April. To book a tour, please contact Sue Crow, PA to the Headteacher, suzanne.crow@nobel.herts.sch.uk or call 01438 222600.

If you have any queries, please email hr@nobel.herts.sch.uk

Application deadline: 22nd April 2026

Interviews: 27th & 28th April 2026

The Nobel School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
