Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026

Hours: The normal school day runs from 8.30-4.30, starting at 8am on a Wednesday morning

The Position

We are seeking an outstanding Geography Teacher with energy, commitment and passion, and a clear commitment to high achievement, to join our dedicated and ambitious School. We would love to hear from you if you are an inspirational, dynamic and creative individual who makes learning fun, and is looking to join a supportive and enthusiastic team in beautiful rural surroundings. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the School, a passion for working with children and high standards of professional practice.

This position would suit experienced teachers and those who have recently completed their ECT period and would start after October half term 2026.

This is a maternity cover position and could extend to a full year’s employment at the school depending on curriculum and staffing requirements.

Key responsibilities

        To teach Geography across Years 6 – 11 including GCSE.

        To promote Geography as a subject within the School.

        To lead the development of the Geography Department.

        To fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

        To meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards.

        To understand how pupils' learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development and understand the stages of child development.
