About this Role

Job Purpose:

To provide a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable after school environment for children aged, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development through structured play, creative activities, and supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the club.
  • Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities.
  • Prepare and serve snacks in line with healthy eating guidelines.
  • Set up and clear away resources and equipment before and after each session.
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage conflicts appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance registers, accident reports, and incident logs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and school staff to ensure smooth running of the provision.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and other relevant policies.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience  of working with children (paid or voluntary).
  • Ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate activities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and responsible attitude.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications.
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Knowledge of EYFS or school-age childcare standards.
