About this Role
School Office Administrator/Senior Midday Assistant
32.5 hours per week (8.30am – 3.30pm), term-time only plus 2 additional days
Are you an organised, friendly and proactive administrator looking to make a real difference in a school community? We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised School Office Administrator and Senior Midday Assistant to join our small, friendly, team. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the school, providing a warm welcome to pupils, parents and visitors while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
As the first point of contact for our school, you'll need excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and flexible approach, and the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy environment. Alongside office administration, you'll also lead our lunchtime team as Senior Midday Assistant, helping to ensure our pupils enjoy a safe, happy and positive lunchtime experience.
The successful candidate will:
- Be friendly, approachable and professional, with excellent customer service skills.
- Have previous administrative experience and be confident using Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Be able to organise and prioritise a varied workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies.
- Be committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Ideally have experience of working within a school environment and using SIMS, ParentMail and CPOMS, although training will be provided.
- Be willing to undertake Paediatric First Aid training if not already qualified.
In return, we can offer:
- A welcoming, supportive and friendly school community.
- Enthusiastic, polite and well-behaved pupils.
- A dedicated and experienced staff team.
- A varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
- Opportunities for professional development and training.
- A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance.
This is a fixed-term position until Summer 2027. As the school prepares for an exciting new chapter, we are working closely with the South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT) with a view to formally joining the Trust in Spring 2027. This partnership provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside colleagues across the Trust, share best practice and be part of the school's transition into a collaborative family of schools committed to delivering the very best outcomes for children and young people.
For further information, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.
Holt Farm Infant School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all other safer recruitment checks in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
