Southmead Primary School

do. The Headteacher and Governors are looking for an enthusiastic
and experienced teaching assistant to support pupils with their learning in our
Key Stage 2 classes. We are looking for
a motivated team player ideally with experience of working with children with a
range of needs both individually and in small groups. A positive and encouraging attitude is
essential, as is kindness, patience and an ability to use your initiative. The role will include some small group
interventions and may include some class cover for suitably qualified
candidates. We are looking for
applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to
ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve.

We are looking for someone with the following essential qualities:
• A Teaching and Learning Assistant
Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
Although we would welcome HLTA’s or teachers who want to remain / stay
in education.
• Experience of working with
children and/or children with additional needs (this can include your own
children or in another setting)
• Experience of delivering 1:1
and/or small group interventions
• Experience of setting clear and
consistent boundaries
•
A positive and encouraging
attitude
•
Kindness and patience
•
A willingness to learn and
undertake CPD
•
Ability to work within a team
•
A willingness to enhance the
school curriculum
•
GCSE Grade C or above, or
equivalent, in English and Maths

This role requires the ability to fulfill all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
