About this Role

Required from April 2026

 We are looking to appoint an ambitious and outstanding Catholic teacher to the position of Head of Faculty - RE  from April 2026.

 

The candidate should be an excellent classroom practitioner and keen to make a difference to children.  They will lead a full team of specialists, building on existing strengths and identifying improvement. This is an exciting time to join the school as we build on recent success and continue our drive to raise standards. This would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced teacher with a desire to make a difference.

 

The successful candidate will be:

 

  • ·         A practicing Catholic and teacher of RE
  • ·         An innovative practitioner
  • ·         Focussed on the development of a stimulating curriculum
  • ·         Highly motivated with well-developed interpersonal skills to support the motivation of colleagues and the student community
  • ·         Committed to learning and the raising of standards

 

St John Fisher is an 11-18 comprehensive school with a rich Catholic ethos. There are 800 students on roll including the Sixth Form.  The school has excellent facilities and well-equipped rooms.  The school was judged Good by Ofsted in October 2013, November 2017 and June 2023.  It was also judged Outstanding by the Diocese in December 2013, 2018 and again in March 2022.  Visits to the school are welcome.
