About this Role

Job Description

Post Title: Upper Key Stage 2 teacher
Salary: Main Pay Scale (M1–M6)
Contract: Full time, maternity cover
Responsible to: Head of School / Executive Head
Location: Paston Ridings Primary School

You matter to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, forward-thinking group of schools at the heart of their communities: Paston Ridings, St John’s, Winyates and Barnack. With a strong team spirit within and across the federation, our staff flourish, belong and feel proud to make a difference every day.

We are looking for a teacher to join us at Paston Ridings Primary School who is ready to flourish and grow, and who is passionate about unlocking children’s potential.

None of this is done alone — collaboration, shared planning and coaching are part of everyday life here.

In this role, the successful candidate will work in Upper Key Stage 2, with a particular focus on Year 5 and Year 6 in order to accelerate progress and raise standards. You will work closely with colleagues to provide targeted teaching, support pupils to overcome barriers to learning, and help ensure all children achieve their full potential.

Why join us?

🌟 A place to belong
An incredibly happy, supportive working environment with an exceptional ethos of care for pupils, staff and families.

🌟 Your growth matters
We will inspire and support you to become the teacher you want to be. From a dedicated Team Leader to guide your induction, regular support with planning, teaching and assessment, to excellent CPD and coaching, your professional journey is at the heart of our work.

🌟 Opportunities available
If you’re looking to flourish and grow in 2026 and beyond, we offer development at your pace. Opportunities to shine are frequent, whether that’s strengthening your classroom practice, developing expertise in Upper Key Stage 2, or exploring future leadership pathways.

🌟 A thriving community
Our dream is to create opportunities for children and staff to think big, aim high and recognise their potential - knowing anything is possible. If you are someone who can make great things happen, we’d love to welcome you.

We are the right school and federation for you if:

  • You enjoy working as part of a positive, well-established team.

  • You want to develop your career and grow as a teacher within an excellent, ambitious group of schools.

  • You are driven to make a meaningful contribution to pupils socially and academically.

  • You are highly motivated, passionate, resilient and committed to teaching.

What we offer

  • A caring, supportive and joyful working environment

  • A leadership team who are hands-on, present and invested in your success

  • A dedicated Team Leader to support your induction

  • Teaching teams across four schools who work collaboratively, supporting each other with planning, teaching and assessment

  • High-quality professional development, coaching and mentoring

  • Opportunities (not expectations) to develop curriculum leadership across schools

What our staff say

“I’ve felt incredibly supported in developing my career across the Spirit Federation. I feel valued, well looked after, and proud to be part of something truly meaningful.” — Spirit Teacher
