Teaching Assistants

The position is full time (Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.15pm), term time only. This position is offered on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave start May/June 2026 and will last for a minimum of the summer term and will end either when the staff member returns or on 22.7.2027, whichever is soonest.

We are seeking to appoint a caring teaching assistant to join our committed, professional and friendly team.  The current vacancy is within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 team supporting the learning, social, communication and emotional needs of pupils.  The role will include supporting children 1:1 and in small groups and will contribute to raising standards of achievement for all pupils.  The role would be suitable for a candidate  with experience.  

We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who:

  • have experience in or a desire to work in a Primary School Setting  and/or
  • have experience of successfully supporting children with  communication and interaction needs (including ASD) or a desire to do so and/or
  • have experience of successfully supporting children with medical, social, emotional and mental health needs or a desire to do so and/or
  • have experience of successfully supporting children for whom English is an additional language

We would expect all Level Two teaching assistants to:

  • have a good rapport with children and are able to engage them in learning
  • have high expectations for pupils’ work and behaviour
  • promote the aims and values of the school
  • work flexibly as part of a team with drive and passion to ensure that all children achieve
  • be willing and able to share good practice and learn from others

The successful candidate will be expected to meet all aspects of the job description.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 7th May, however, we reserve the right close the post early and interview on a rolling basis.
