Class Teacher (part-time 0.6)
Salary: MPS + Plus 2-point SEN allowance
Start date: 1st September 2026
The reason you became a teacher matters here.
At The Woodlands School, the difference you make isn’t just seen — it’s transformative. If you believe that every young person deserves to be understood, valued and celebrated, and that being unique should be championed, then you may have just found your next chapter.
We are an all-age (Reception to Year 14) special school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social Communication Difficulties, many with associated learning needs. Across our three campuses in Milton Keynes, every student has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and every student is known, supported and encouraged to thrive.
This role is based within our Primary Campus, where relationships, consistency and creativity are at the heart of everything we do.
What makes this role special?
Success here isn’t defined by a single outcome. It’s seen in the small steps, the breakthroughs, the confidence-built day by day.
You will:
Develop a deep understanding of each student — how they think, communicate and engage
Adapt teaching creatively across the curriculum to unlock potential
Create a classroom where curiosity is sparked and confidence grows
Celebrate progress in all its forms, every single day
We’re looking for someone who:
Puts the welfare, safeguarding and success of every child first
Has high expectations and believes every student can achieve
Is reflective, resilient and ready to adapt
Understands that strong relationships are the foundation of learning
Wants to make a genuine, lasting difference
Experience in SEN is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your mindset. If you are ready to step into special education, we will invest in you with high-quality training and ongoing support.
What we offer
We know that exceptional teaching comes from feeling supported, valued and inspired. That’s why we provide:
Protected PPA time, with flexibility to work from home
A comprehensive wellbeing package (including counselling, physiotherapy, financial advice and menopause support)
High-quality CPD and specialist SEN training
A supportive, friendly and dedicated team which is multidisciplinary
Free on-site parking
Safeguarding & Equal Opportunities
