Welcome to Romans Field
School, a nurturing Special School dedicated to children aged 5 to 11, with
a Secondary Provision for young people aged 11 to 16 with Autism Spectrum
Condition (ASC). Our pupils all have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
and represent a diverse range of needs including ASC, Communication and
Interaction, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Complex Needs.
Since increasing our Pupil Admission Number to 66, in the Primary
Special School in September 2022, and with the exciting expansion of our
Secondary ASC provision opened in September 2024 for up to 24 children with the
potential for further growth in 2026, our school continues to grow and evolve.
As part of the Inclusive Learning Federation alongside Priory Common School and
Bradwell Village School, we benefit from shared expertise and collaboration,
ensuring every child receives the best possible education.

curriculum pathways—Shared, Structured, and Scaffolded—combine the National
Curriculum with our bespoke RF curriculum, enriched by sensory resources and

We are seeking an inspirational and committed Interim Deputy Headteacher
to join our senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an
experienced teacher and leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for
all pupils and supporting staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
Working closely with the Head of School the successful candidate will
play a key role in the leadership and management of the school.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day
leadership and management of the school
· Lead on teaching and learning, curriculum
development and pupil premium
· Line manage and support staff, promoting
professional development and high standards
· Contribute to school improvement planning and
self-evaluation
· Promote safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and
positive behaviour
· Engage positively with pupils,
parents/carers, governors, and external partners
The Ideal Candidate Will:
· Have proven leadership or management
experience within a school setting
· Have experience in working with children who
have SEMH and complex needs
· Demonstrate a clear commitment to inclusive
education and raising attainment
· Inspire, motivate, and support both pupils
and staff
· Have excellent communication, organisational,
and interpersonal skills
· Be committed to safeguarding and promoting
the welfare of children
