About Us

Established in 2018, the Bucks Supported Internship Programme was the first of its kind in Buckinghamshire. Based in central Aylesbury, we are dedicated to transforming futures by bridging education and employment.

Through bespoke programmes and meaningful, individualised work placements with 15 local employers, we support young people to develop the skills, confidence, and experience they need to succeed. Our on-site training café further enhances learning, creating real-world opportunities that unlock each intern’s potential and support lasting pathways into employment.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Supported Internship Programme Officer to join our team.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work flexibly across the programme, supporting students both in their work placements and within their study programmes. You will work closely with interns, employers and colleagues to deliver coordinated, person-centred support that promotes independence, confidence and employability skills.

You will also play a part in promoting the programme through marketing and communications, as well as supporting the delivery of a small element of the curriculum (full training will be provided).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored, person-centred support to students with SEND in both placement and classroom settings
  • Liaise with employers to support successful placements and monitor intern progress
  • Work alongside Senior Job Coaches to carry out workplace observations and task analysis
  • Support the planning, delivery and assessment of elements of the curriculum
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Assist with administering and marking assessments, including invigilating exams where required
  • Help create and maintain a positive, organised learning environment
  • Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students
  • Support marketing and promotion, including social media content and maintaining online presence
  • Build strong relationships with families, carers and external partners
  • Take part in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting young people with SEND
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Organised, flexible and proactive
  • A strong communicator, able to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Interested in developing their skills in education, employability and programme delivery

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s futures
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A varied role with opportunities to grow and develop
