About this Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher to join our team at our Downley site. You will be well supported by experienced and welcoming staff within a well-run, hard-working school which holds as its core value the wellbeing of its pupils, parents and staff.

Woodlands Department caters for pupils who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.  We pride ourselves on building positive relationships with our pupils, their families and supporting professionals to enable communication, physical, social and emotional development for each individual.

We have extensive facilities on site to support this development and provide learning opportunities through a variety of experiences, lessons and routines.

As a school, we strive to continually improve our practice, and aim to secure only the very best outcomes for our pupils through high quality provision and practice. Previous experience is desired but not essential.

If you feel that you have the attributes to contribute purposefully to the educational and social development of our pupils and you feel you have the qualities to successfully attend to their welfare and emotional needs then please do visit our school website to take a virtual tour of our departments or contact the office to arrange a discussion with one of our senior leaders.  We will also accept applications from Early Career Teachers with experience in PMLD.

Chiltern Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to full vetting checks, including a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level.

We reserve the right to close this position earlier should sufficient applications be received before the anticipated closing date.

Closing date: Monday 23rd February 2026

Interviews: W/C 2nd March 2026
