We are a vibrant and friendly primary school for children between 4 – 11 years with 250 pupils on roll. Located in the village of Great Brickhill, we are 5 miles from Milton Keynes, and 4 miles from Leighton Buzzard so we have good accessibility. Our children are a delight to teach and we are determined for them to flourish academically and socially, no matter what their starting points.
As a Church School, we firmly believe that every child has
the ability to ‘let their light shine’ and make a difference to the world. Our focus is on providing deep and rich
learning experiences that provides them with the knowledge and skills to
succeed in life, yet also prepares them morally and spiritually so that they
can live life in all its fullness and contribute to their local, national and
global community. Every child matters to
us and we celebrate diversity, uniqueness and challenge stereotypes in order to
be ‘Good Samaritans’, helping others, no matter what.
We offer breadth and
depth of curriculum experience whilst also ensuring that the children continue
to excel and progress in the core skills of reading, writing and maths. More
detail on our school can be found on our website www.highashschool.co.uk and interested candidates
are encouraged to take a look before applying to find out more about us, our
vision and our practice.
Our school is also very committed to the wellbeing and development of its staff. Our Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team are highly motivated and fully supportive of all of our staff members; our pupils are hardworking pupils who respond well to staff who take the time to understand them. We have effective CPD from local and national sources and we firmly believe in giving teachers the time and support needed to develop their craft through a mix of peer support and networking as well as specialist led CPD and school improvement.
We are proud to offer
you:
Do you want to work in a school that supports you to be the best? Are you enthusiastic and determined to provide outstanding learning for children? Do you buy into our vision of developing children to be the best they can be and to give something back to society?
Please see the attached Person Specification for a full list of requirements. Overall, we are looking for a passionate and dynamic primary teacher with excellent classroom practice to join our team. We have a proven, successful track record of supporting the development of staff and love working with teachers who bring enthusiasm and new ideas.
We are keen to hear from both candidates who are great classroom practitioners with excellent working knowledge and experience in KS2 and ECTs who are just starting out on their teaching career.
The short-term nature of the contract is ideal for those looking to gain experience with a new age group, within a different educational environment or with a different demographic.
