SEND Teaching Assistant – Wood End Infant & Preschool

Wood End Infant & Preschool is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support our special needs children. This exciting role will initially focus on working directly with SEND pupils within our newly opened SEND unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, tailored support
to special needs children within the classroom and throughout the school
day
- Work closely with teachers and SEND
coordinators to implement individual education plans
- Support the transition and development
of the upcoming SEND special unit, collaborating on its successful
roll-out and ongoing operation
- Foster a positive and inclusive
learning environment that encourages confidence and resilience in pupils
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress
and contribute to reporting and review meetings
- Engage with parents and carers to
support children’s learning and well-being
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- MUST have experience working with special needs
children in an educational setting
- Understanding of SEND strategies and
support mechanisms
- Ability to work effectively as part of
a team and communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Commitment to safeguarding and
promoting the welfare of children

- Patience, empathy, and a positive
attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt
as the SEND unit develops
