We are seeking an exceptional leader to
join us as our Deputy Headteacher for
the Quality of Education.
This
role is designed for a specialist in teaching, learning, and curriculum design.
As the Headteacher’s primary partner, you will lead the strategic vision for
what our pupils learn and how they learn it. You will be the architect of our
classroom practice, ensuring that our curriculum is ambitious, sequential, and
delivered through high-impact, research-led pedagogy.
As
a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will also be a core part of our
Safeguarding Team. While the Headteacher maintains the Strategic Lead for
Safeguarding, you will work alongside the team to ensure that a culture of
vigilance remains the foundation of our school.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
·
Lead the strategic development of the school in partnership with
the Headteacher.
·
Assume full responsibility for the school in the absence of the
Headteacher.
·
Contribute significantly to the School Development Plan (SDP) and the Self-Evaluation Form (SEF).
·
Model the school’s core values: Cooperation, Kindness, Honesty,
Resilience, Respect, and Well-being.
2. Quality of Education (Curriculum and Pedagogy)
·
Curriculum Design:
Lead the strategic development of an ambitious, sequential, and broad
curriculum that ensures all pupils make exceptional progress.
·
Pedagogical Strategy:
Lead the school’s vision for teaching excellence, ensuring research-informed
practice and adaptive teaching are embedded in every classroom.
·
Strategic Collaboration:
Partner with the SENDCo to
ensure the curriculum is accessible and high-quality for pupils with additional
needs.
o Work alongside the Assessment
Lead to ensure data informs curriculum refinement and pedagogical focus.
·
Coaching and Professional Growth:
Lead the school’s coaching culture, providing high-quality feedback and
mentoring to staff to drive professional excellence.
·
Quality Assurance:
Lead rigorous, subject-specific evaluations to monitor the impact of the
curriculum on pupil outcomes and the quality of teaching across all key stages.
3. Safeguarding and Wellbeing
·
Serve as a Designated
Safeguarding Lead (DSL), contributing to the effective day-to-day
operation of the safeguarding team under the strategic direction of the
Headteacher.
·
Assist the Headteacher in maintaining a culture of collective
vigilance across the school community.
·
Ensure that the curriculum effectively teaches pupils how to keep
themselves safe (PSHE and Online Safety).
4. Staff Development
· Design and lead a research-informed Professional Development programme that aligns with the SDP and fosters a culture of collective efficacy.
