We are seeking a caring, organised and enthusiastic Senior Midday Supervisor to join our dedicated team at our infant school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is ready to take on a leadership role, supporting both pupils and colleagues to ensure a safe, happy and positive lunchtime experience for all.
As Senior Midday Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate our team of Midday Supervisors, helping to maintain the same high standards of behaviour and conduct on the playground as we expect in the classroom. You will be responsible for overseeing lunchtime provision, supporting colleagues in managing behaviour positively and consistently, and making operational decisions during the lunch period, including determining when wet play arrangements are required.
You will be a positive role model for both children and staff, promoting good behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing while ensuring that lunchtimes are enjoyable, safe and well organised.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 11.45am - 1.30pm, term time only.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and coordinate the Midday Supervisor team during lunchtime.
- Be on playground duty during the lunch hour.
- Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils throughout the lunch break.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing social skills and friendships.
- Work with the team to maintain high standards of behaviour on the playground, reflecting the expectations established within the classroom.
- Ensure that the midday supervisor team are part of the whole school team.
- Organise and oversee playground activities and encourage active, inclusive play.
- Make decisions regarding lunchtime arrangements, including implementing wet play procedures when necessary.
- Liaise effectively with the link SLT member, regarding any concerns, incidents or safeguarding matters.
- Ensure school policies and procedures are followed consistently.
