£11.12 per hour for 18-20 year olds
£13.03 per hour for over 21s
Hours of Work as Required

· Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
• To help create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning
• To assist in the delivery of high-quality, differentiated lessons
• To assist in ensuring children are getting to their lessons to Extended Day and are having a snack (where appropriate) after swimming
• To assist in enabling pupils to develop positive attitudes to swimming
• To promote high standards of behaviour and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety
• To ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice
• To actively promote strong and positive relationships with parents and carers
General Requirements
• To promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils you are responsible for and with whom you meet
• To maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct
• To conduct a visual risk assessment of the poolside and ensure it is clear and safe for swimming
• To assist with setting up and clearing away at the end of each session
• To maintain positive, courteous relations with pupils, parents, and colleagues
• To maintain good order and discipline among pupils and support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding their students
• To promote the good name and reputation of the School
• To adhere to School policies and procedures
Person Specification and Qualifications
Essential:
• To be able to swim competently and confidently
• Knowledge of current swimming teaching practices
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Enthusiastic individual, possessing drive, energy, and commitment, and having a presence that engenders confidence and respect from pupils, colleagues, and parents
• Proven ability to inspire pupils and engage with a wide range of individuals
• Team focused; shares knowledge and information with other members of staff to promote good practice
• Focuses on what needs to be delivered; understands what is needed and responds promptly
• Commitment to the highest standards of care for all pupils
Desirable:
• Experience working with children
• ASA/STA Level 1 Certificate
• RLSS NRASTC Award
