About this Role

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is a thriving HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, helping to make BMS a very special place to work.

Bedford Modern School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Aquatics to lead and further develop its swimming and water polo programme within a highly successful Sport & Physical Education Faculty.

The faculty comprises 10 teaching staff and up to 20 specialist coaches, delivering an extensive PE, Games and co-co provision across both the Junior and Senior Schools. BMS benefits from outstanding onsite facilities, including a modern swimming pool, a recently refurbished sports hall, a floodlit AstroTurf pitch and a well equipped fitness suite.

In addition to curriculum PE and Games, the faculty delivers a vibrant co-curricular programme of over 30 physical activities, with strong uptake in GCSE and A Level Physical Education. Bedford Modern School enjoys a growing local and national sporting reputation, with participation, representation and student development central to its sporting philosophy.
