Bedford Modern School is seeking to
appoint a full-time Senior Lead Nurse to work alongside another School Nurse
providing nursing care and first aid to all members of the school community
along with first aid cover for weekend sports events. This role offers an
exciting opportunity to work within a supportive pastoral environment,
delivering both immediate and ongoing healthcare in line with NMC guidelines.
The successful candidate will
organize and run nurse drop-in clinics, provide first aid and emergency care,
and support students with a range of medical needs. Key responsibilities
include maintaining accurate medical records, administering treatment, managing
first aid provision across the school, and supporting immunisation programmes
and clinical safety procedures.
The role also involves promoting
health education, offering confidential advice to students, and working closely
with parents, academic staff and external healthcare professionals to ensure
high-quality, joined-up care. In addition, the post holder will contribute to
the wider pastoral support of students, working alongside safeguarding, mental
health and SEND teams, as well as supporting school trips and activities.
