 About the Role:

Bedford Girls’ School (BGS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Sports Coach to join our dynamic Sports Department with a specialism in Lacrosse and/or Netball. We are proud of our strong Lacrosse and Netball teams and are committed to promoting sporting excellence and lifelong fitness for our pupils.

As a Sports Coach at BGS, you will work within the PE Department in delivering a vibrant, inclusive and high-quality sports programme that aligns with the school’s ethos and strategic vision. Whether you're inspiring beginners or supporting elite performers, your work will help empower young women.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote excellence in coaching and learning to ensure pupils develop their potential in Lacrosse and/or Netball.
  • Deliver games lessons to all year groups (yr3-13) in a variety of other sports such as Swimming, Hockey, Football, Tennis and Cricket.
  • Umpiring and coaching at tournaments throughout the school year, including at after school fixtures both home and away.
  • Lead training sessions and fixtures, which take place at the weekends and occasionally during the school holidays.
  • Exemplify in own practice the skills of coaching and learning typified by lead professionals and ensure that good practice is shared through sports.
  • Maintain and oversee safe use of equipment and uphold health & safety standards
