About this Role

Are you looking for a fulfilling role in education without the demands of full-time teaching?

Leighton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting student learning and wants to make a real difference in a school environment.

In this dynamic role, you'll be at the heart of our school's daily operations, ensuring that learning continues seamlessly when teachers are absent. You'll supervise students as they complete pre-set work, maintaining a productive and positive classroom atmosphere.

When not covering classes, you'll transition into a vital classroom support role, assisting with a variety of tasks to help our students and teachers thrive.

What We Offer:

  • A permanent, term-time-only position.

  • A consistent, part-time schedule of 28.75 hours per week, spread over 5 days.

  • The chance to work in a supportive and friendly school community.

  • An engaging role that combines independence with teamwork.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Interested? We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as interviews may be held before the closing date.

If you are a confident and adaptable individual with a passion for helping young people succeed, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that if you are shortlisted for this role, or an alternative role, an online name search will be undertaken, as per Keeping Children Safe in Education.  The purpose of the search is to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online, which the school might want to explore with you at interview.

CVs will not be accepted for any posts based in school.  The school is committed to safeguarding an promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
