To start: September 2026

At Lealands High School, we are looking for a dedicated and innovative Teacher of English to join our vibrant department. We aren't just teaching students how to pass exams; we’re teaching them how to find their voice in a complex world.

Why Lealands High School?

Lealands is a "Good" rated school (Ofsted) known for its inclusive atmosphere and high expectations. We pride ourselves on being a community where both students and staff can thrive.

  • A Supportive Environment: Benefit from a collaborative department with a shared resource bank and a focus on evidence-based pedagogy.
  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our modern building provides a fantastic environment for learning, including specialized English classrooms and a well-resourced library.
  • Professional Growth: We offer an exceptional CPD program. Whether you are an ECT or an experienced teacher, we invest in your career progression.
  • Student-Centered Ethos: Work with diverse, respectful, and motivated students who are eager to engage with challenging texts.

The Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Bring a wide range of texts to life, from Shakespearean tragedy to modern-day spoken word.
  • Foster a love of reading and literacy across the wider school community.
  • Contribute to our extracurricular offer (Debate Club, Creative Writing, etc.).

Who We Are Looking For?

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with a strong degree in English or a related subject.
  • An individual with high emotional intelligence and a sense of humor.
  • Someone who is committed to "climbing the mountain" of academic excellence alongside our students.
  • A professional who values Luton’s rich, multicultural heritage and can bring that perspective into the classroom.
