About this Role

Wrestlingworth C of E Infant School is a small, friendly village school about 5 miles from Biggleswade. We are federated with Dunton C of E Junior School. Both of our schools have recently been recognised as ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED (December 2023).

We are currently in an exciting period of change for our two small rural schools when we became a split site primary school from September 2024, as part of the CBC Schools for the Future project. Wrestlingworth is Central Bedfordshire’s only Infant school, taking children from Reception to Year 2. Children then transfer to Dunton Junior school from year 3 and stay through to year 6. There are lots of exciting changes ahead for both schools and we are looking for a strong, dedicated team of staff to join us on this journey.

We are seeking an assistant to join our busy after school wraparound care provision 'The Treehouse'. The hours of work are 3:15-5:45 pm, Monday - Friday. Duties include ensuring a calm and safe arrival of the children, registration, preparation and serving of a snack tea, leading play based activities with the children.

This role is offered on a fixed term contract until July 2025 initially.

The successful candidate will:

  • support the values and ethos of our Church Schools
  • be adept in supporting children's play and engaging their interest
  • be able to develop positive relationships with our already strong active school community

In return we can offer:

  • a school that prides itself on the individual attention given to every child
  • a school full of friendly, enthusiastic learners
  • strong values reflected in the ethos of the Federation
  • a dedicated, supportive and highly effective staff team
  • parents that support their children's learning and the life of the school
  • links with our churches and weekly worship in church

Please complete the application via the My New Term website. Please demonstrate, with examples how you meet each one of the essential criteria described on the person specification (attached).

The School reserve the right to close the application date sooner if a suitable candidate is appointed following application.

Our schools and Central Bedfordshire Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all employees, volunteers and contractors to share this commitment.
