About this Role

The Orchard is a new SEMH service, based at Wigmore Primary School and serving the Eastern Partnership of Luton schools.

We are looking for a part-time Family Worker to play a key role in the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

The Family Worker will be at the heart of our SEMH Service, working closely with families and outside agencies, helping to ensure that we meet individual needs and improve students’ learning opportunities.

The position is primarily based at Wigmore Primary School however candidates applying for this role must be willing to travel around the Eastern area. 

As a Family Worker, you will be welcomed into our supportive team to:

        Work effectively with children and families in challenging circumstances

        Utilise your experience to work with professionals from a number of Early Help agencies e.g. Family Partnership/MASH/Social Care

        Represent the SEMH service and students, including those on the child protection register, at multi-agency meetings

        Safeguard children and young people

        Provide support to parents, carers and students in a tactful and objective way

        Work flexibly and adapt quickly to change

        Organise and manage your own time

        Work effectively while under pressure
