Shillington Lower school (part of the Shillington and
Stondon Federation) is seeking to recruit a hardworking, passionate and caring
Teaching Assistant with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
to join a committed team of educational professionals. Teaching
Assistants provide specific support and care for young people and work to
facilitate high quality learning for all pupils.
The hours will be 08:30 - 15:45 Monday to Friday (with 30
minutes lunch) 33.25
hours per week. This time will include working over the children's lunch time.
Term time only, plus 5 INSET days per year. This is initially a fixed term
contract for 2 terms until August 2026.

The Post
This specific role will be primarily focused on supporting the
specific medical and special educational needs of one learner, whilst providing
academic support for other learners within the same classroom. It is
essential that the postholder can carry out the listed duties with sensitivity,
subtlety and a calm approach to ensure that the privacy and dignity of the
individual student is upheld and maintained at all times.
We are looking for a calm, cheerful, nurturing and patient
Teaching Assistant. The perfect candidate will be self-motivated, capable of
working collaboratively and independently when required and able to maintain a
professional attitude in a busy school environment. You will need to be
flexible and be willing to undertake a variety of activities with individual,
groups of pupils or supporting the whole class.
A good understanding of phonics and of the differing needs of children,
including those with SEND is desirable.
Experience of gastronomy care or a willingness to train and achieve
competency is essential.
Start date will be as soon as possible.
