About this Role

SENDCo

Part-Time – Fixed Term Contract

MPS

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Haynes Lower School and Nursery as SENDCo. This is a key role within our inclusive and nurturing school, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families.

The children and staff at Haynes Lower School are excited to welcome a talented and nurturing SENDCo to join our close-knit school community.

We are looking for an exceptional practitioner who is passionate about SEND and Inclusion and dedicated to helping every child thrive in a values-led environment.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has high expectations for all learners and is committed to helping each child reach their full potential.
  • Is hardworking, reflective, and motivated, embodying our school values in every aspect of their work.
  • Values whole-child development, with a strong commitment to social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Is driven to raise standards and continually improve practice across the school.
  • Is a collaborative team player with a positive, proactive approach.
  • Brings creativity, fresh ideas, and a willingness to lead innovation within our curriculum.
  • Is confident in leading SEND and Inclusion and contributing to the whole school community.

What we offer:

  • Enthusiastic, well-behaved, and motivated learners who love coming to school.
  • A warm, inclusive school culture grounded in a strong, values-based ethos.
  • Smaller class sizes supported by experienced teaching assistants.
  • A dedicated, friendly, and collaborative staff team.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression.
  • A supportive leadership team and Governing Body that are aligned with our mission and committed to staff wellbeing.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs who share our vision for providing the very best start to a child’s educational journey.

The SENDCo is a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic leadership for inclusion and SEND across the school. The post will initially be non-class-based; however, this may change over time in response to the needs of the school.

The purpose of the role is to lead and co-ordinate provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring that all children receive the support they need to achieve well and feel fully included in school life.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who:

  • Are strong classroom practitioners with a clear understanding of high-quality teaching
  • Are passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring that all children can access learning and succeed
  • Want to play an active role in shaping and developing learning experiences that meet a wide range of needs
  • Value working as part of a supportive and caring team
  • Are motivated by making a difference to the outcomes and experiences of children
