About Us:
Nestled in the heart of a welcoming and friendly Central Bedfordshire village, Haynes Lower School is a small, nurturing Lower School that prides itself on providing a safe, welcoming, and creative environment for all our children. Our close-knit team of staff work together to ensure each child is encouraged to grow, explore, and develop to their fullest potential. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teacher to lead our Nursery, to join our passionate team and make a positive impact on the next generation.

The Role:
As the Nursery Teacher at Haynes Lower School, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality Early Years Education to a group of delightful children aged 2-4 years. You will plan, deliver, and assess exciting learning activities, helping our little learners develop foundational skills in a fun and stimulating environment. You will work closely with other staff to support the personal, social, and emotional development of each child, creating a warm and caring atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to a group of nursery-aged children.
  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment where children feel valued, safe, and confident.
  • Observe, assess, and track children's progress, sharing feedback with parents and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support children's learning and development.
  • Promote good behaviour and positive social interactions in the Nursery environments.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's development and provide regular reports.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and well-organized.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a warm, caring, and dedicated professional with a passion for working with young children. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant, equivalent Early Years qualification.
  • Experience teaching or working with children in a Nursery or Early Years setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A nurturing and patient nature, with a genuine passion for helping young children learn and grow.
  • Creativity and initiative to develop exciting and engaging learning experiences for children.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive and friendly team of staff.
  • The opportunity to work in a beautiful, village school with strong community links.
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression.
  • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young children.
  • A warm, inclusive school culture where every member of staff is valued.
  • A strong values-based education shown by all members of our community.
  • A supportive Management Team and Governing Body.

Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews conducted accordingly.  Early application is recommended and the vacancy will close on appointment of a suitable candidate.
