About this Role

The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who is enthusiastic about collaborative, school‑based practice and is committed to working in a dynamic specialist setting. The role will require attending different sites within the East SILC . Newly qualified therapists with experience of working in Education and/or SEND will be considered

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality assessment, intervention, and advice for learners with communication needs aged 3–19.

You will work directly within classrooms alongside teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to promote meaningful communication development and ensure learners can fully engage in learning and school life.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced therapist who is enthusiastic about collaborative, school‑based practice and is committed to working in a dynamic specialist setting. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality assessment, intervention, and advice for learners with communication needs aged 3–19.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing assessment and intervention for learners with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs, including autism, learning disability, and complex needs.

• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to embed communication strategies into the curriculum.

• Contributing to classroom practice, EHCP targets, annual reviews, reports, and multidisciplinary planning.

• Providing training, guidance, and resources to school staff.

• Supporting the development of total communication approaches across the school.

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration

• Experience of working with children and young people with SEND.

• A reflective, flexible practitioner who enjoys working as part of a team.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Commitment to learner‑centred, inclusive practice.
