About this Role

We are an outstanding special school for pupils aged 4–19 with a wide range of complex needs. Our approach is rooted in care, respect and ambition: we expect the very best for our pupils and support them to achieve it. Our curriculum is unique, purposeful, creative and designed to unlock every child’s potential.

We are looking to appoint a talented teacher to lead learning in a class of children aged 11-16 who each have a range of complex needs and communication and interaction difficulties.  Whilst the vacancy advertised is in Key Stage 3/4 our staff are sometimes required to teach in other phases of the school which includes Primary and Post 16. Flexibility is an asset!

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from both mainstream and special school backgrounds. What matters most is your:

  • Passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs
  • Ability to create engaging, challenging and personalised learning experiences
  • High expectations for yourself and your pupils
  • Skills in teamwork, communication and classroom leadership
  • Positivity, energy and a strong sense of commitment.

Experience of complex needs teaching is an advantage but not essential – we provide high-quality training and ongoing professional development.

What We Offer

At Ravenshall you will find:

  • An ambitious, innovative curriculum supported by excellent resources and facilities.
  • Outstanding professional development, tailored to your career stage and interests.
  • A collaborative, supportive staff team with strong shared values.
  • Leaders who listen, value new ideas and invest in staff wellbeing.
  • A school community shaped by our motto: All Different, All Equal, All Important.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding checks as part of the recruitment process.

Next Steps

We warmly encourage you to visit Ravenshall and see for yourself why our pupils love coming to school. To arrange a visit, please contact us on 01924 456811.
