We are seeking to appoint an innovative, committed, strategic and enthusiastic history specialist to work in our very successful humanities faculty from 1st September 2026. We are looking to appoint someone who is passionate about history and the delivery of a highly effective history curriculum to students of KS3/KS4.
Experience/Knowledge of Edexcel GCSE history is desirable, although not essential.
Wheelers Lane is an “Outstanding School” following our inspection in February 2025. The school achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all 4 of the graded areas. We are an oversubscribed smaller than average school catering for 675 pupils. In 2025 74% of our students achieved grade 4 including English and maths. 75% of the pupils who took history were awarded a grade 4 or above, 55% grade 5 or above and 25% grade 7 or above.
