Are you an ambitious, driven and passionate senior leader looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in a good school with well-behaved, hardworking pupils and a culture of high expectations? We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Headteacher who will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving school improvement and securing the very best outcomes for all students. Selly Park Girls' School is a thriving, well-maintained school with a proven track record of academic excellence. We are proud to have been recognised with numerous awards, including Secondary School of the Year in 2018 and 2022. As well as achieving Pearsons Secondary School of the Year silver award in 2025 and Staff Wellbeing School of the Year in 2024/25, as well as a range of accolades for our commitment to equality, diversity, health and well-being, SEND progress, and safeguarding. The school is looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher to provide strategic leadership across key areas of school improvement. We are seeking an exceptional leader rather than a predefined portfolio. Responsibilities will be shaped around the skills and experience of the successful candidate and may include leadership of teaching and learning, curriculum, inclusion, assessment, culture, personal development or school improvement. The successful applicant will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to monitor and evaluate school performance, support middle leaders, and ensure that all students are able to achieve their full potential. They will lead on the effective use of assessment and performance information to inform decision-making and contribute to the continued success of the school. The successful candidate should be an inspirational and highly effective leader with a proven track record of improving outcomes and raising standards. They will possess excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, alongside a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment and accountability. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who is committed to developing staff, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and driving continuous improvement across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who wishes to play a central role in the next stage of the school's development.
