Washwood Heath Nursery School is funded by the Local Authority. We are one of 27 Birmingham Local Authority Maintained Nursery Schools
that promote quality and excellence for our youngest children in Birmingham.
We
provide high-quality nursery education for 120 children, offering places to 2-,
3- and 4-year-olds.

Our nursery
is culturally rich and diverse, with many languages spoken by our children and
families. We have a strong reputation for supporting children with complex
special educational needs and disabilities, as well as families who may be
experiencing additional challenges.

We are
committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children. All
staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Successful
candidates will be subject to suitability checks including identity,
qualification and employment history checks, and two professional references.
Who We Are Looking For
At Washwood Heath Nursery School, we are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable team player to join our dedicated staff team. The successful candidate will support the maintenance and cleanliness of our site, carrying out general cleaning duties to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, safety and presentation across the school.
You will be flexible, proactive and committed to upholding the school’s ethos while working as part of a supportive team. The role includes following all Health & Safety procedures, reporting hazards appropriately, and contributing to a safe environment for children, staff and visitors.
As part of the cleaning responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to use cleaning products and chemicals safely and responsibly, in line with COSHH regulations. Training will be provided to ensure correct storage, handling and use of personal protective equipment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate responsibility, professionalism and a strong commitment to the nursery community.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. The appointment for which you are applying involves working with children and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You are required to declare any convictions or cautions you may have, which are not protected, even if they would otherwise be regarded as spent under that Act. The information you give will be treated in confidence. A check with the disclosure and barring service (DBS) at enhanced level is a requirement for this role and will be carried out.
