About this Role

The Governors of Goodway Nursery School are seeking to appoint an inspiring, compassionate and dedicated  Deputy Headteacher, to work alongside the Executive Headteacher and the SLT.

Goodway Nursery is a Local Authority Maintained Nursery School, situated in Great Barr, Birmingham. The school is Federated with Bloomsbury Nursery School, which is situated in Nechells. Both schools share a Governing Board and work closely together, with a shared commitment to offer the very best early education .  The post of DHT is based at Goodway Nursery School and is a  non teaching role.

Our staff team of highly experienced teachers and teaching assistants work together to ensure that our ambitious curriculum  engages  children of all needs and abilities, inspiring confident and independent learners.

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who; 

Has an excellent knowledge and understanding of early years pedagogy and child development 

Has strong leadership skills and the ability to support, challenge, motivate and inspire others

Is able to build on existing strengths and lead the school to further improve the quality of our provision

Is an excellent communicator who is approachable and can build strong relationships with children, parents, professionals, our team  and the community

Has a secure knowledge and understanding of KCSIE and experience in the  role of Designated Safeguarding Lead

         Is an inspirational early years teacher and is able lead on further developing our ambitious curriculum

Is positive, enthusiastic, energetic and  nurturing
