About the Role
As a Midday Supervisor you will work under the direction of our Senior Midday Supervisor to provide calm, consistent supervision during the lunch period. This is a vital role in ensuring pupils are safe, happy and engaged.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising pupils in the dining hall, on the playground (and in classrooms in poor weather).
- Encouraging purposeful play and social skills activities to help pupils build friendships and confidence.
- Supporting hygiene routines (for example handwashing) and ensuring areas are tidied after play.
- Dealing with minor first aid and toileting needs, and reporting incidents to the Senior Midday Supervisor.
- Helping maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere at lunchtime.
Hours of Work:
- 11:45am-12:45pm
- 12:15pm-1:15pm
- 12:25pm-1:25pm
- 12:30pm-1:30pm
Please note there will not be any opportunity to work additional hours in this role.
The successful candidate may be required to work at either site.
About You
We are looking for someone who will embody our values and bring patience, calm and fairness to the role. In particular you will:
- Have experience of working with primary-aged pupils and relate well to children from diverse backgrounds.
- Be able to organise simple games and encourage purposeful play that supports pupils’ social development.
- Be patient, calm and firm but fair when managing behaviour.
- Be a positive role model and a team player, working cooperatively with staff and responding to direction from the Senior Midday Supervisor.
- Be willing to undertake training (first aid will be provided if required) and to follow school policies on safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality.
