The Student Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting the pastoral, attendance, welfare and medical needs of students within their allocated year group. Working closely with the Head of Year, safeguarding team, school nurse and families, the postholder will help ensure that students are safe, supported and able to engage fully in school life. The role involves monitoring attendance and punctuality, coordinating welfare and medical support, managing student referrals, liaising with parents and external agencies, and providing practical administrative support to the wider pastoral team. Through proactive intervention and a caring approach, the Student Support Assistant will contribute significantly to promoting student wellbeing, removing barriers to learning and helping every student achieve their full potential.
