About this Role

KS2 One-to-One Learning Support Assistant (1:1 LSA)

Contract: Temporary (end date linked to pupil’s tenure, key stage transition and/or Local Authority funding)

Start date: September 2026

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week, term time (36 weeks). Working pattern typically 9.30am–1.00pm or 10.30am–1.00pm, plus one morning 8.30am–11.00am (flexibility required)

Salary: FTE £29,536 – £31,995 | Actual £9,410 – £10,194

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 pupil with additional needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting a pupil’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing and social development within a nurturing and high-achieving environment.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will help implement a personalised programme of support, including a sensory diet, while encouraging independence and building confidence.

What you will be doing

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day to meet the pupil’s educational, social and emotional needs
  • Supporting the delivery of the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) through targeted interventions and differentiated activities
  • Implementing a sensory diet and supporting regulation strategies
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship to promote engagement, confidence and independence
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, therapists and external professionals
  • Monitoring progress through observation and contributing to assessments and records
  •  Supporting behaviour management in line with the School’s policies
  • Providing pastoral support and promoting positive social interactions
  • Liaising sensitively with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach between home and school
